THIS OL' BOND OF MINE

Daily Telegraph (UK)

It seems to be de rigueur for singers to release their own version of David Bowie's bond deal (James Brown, Ashford & Simpson, Motown songwriters Holland Dozier Holland and so on). The latest musician to follow the trend is Ron Isley of the Isley Brothers.

Don't pretend you don't remember Twist 'n Shout. David Pullman, a New York financier, has signed up the ageing rocker who started his band in 1957. All future royalties from around 200 songs on the Isleys' catalogue will repay the sum raised by the bond issue.  So there's something to Shout about.
